This year's competition centered on the theme “Understanding China, Communicating With the World.” It featured five categories: the International Communication Comprehensive Skills Contest, the Translation Contest, the Interpreting Contest, the Speech Contest, and the Short Video Contest. Around the theme, young contestants used foreign languages to tell China's story and spread its message. Kou Junqi demonstrated outstanding cross-cultural communication skills, strong public speaking ability, and a global perspective during the competition. “I'm really happy to be placed in this English speech contest. I couldn't have done it without my teachers and classmates. They've been so supportive. For me, English is more than just a subject. It's like a bridge that helps me go deeper into my discipline. Listening to English songs, watching movies, and practicing speaking with teachers and friends have become part of my daily routine. It's where I find a lot of joy and a sense of achievement.”

The college has long supported students in participating in foreign language competitions. In addition to English courses, it has developed platforms such as English corners, English clubs, and bilingual poster design contests, initiatives that reflect its international education focus. These efforts help students strengthen cross-cultural communication skills and develop a global perspective through language. Kou Junqi's performance reflected both strong language ability and the positive spirit of our students. The college hopes more students will tell China's story in foreign languages and make their mark on broader stages, showcasing the excellence of the new generation.
