The 2025 Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral of Guangzhou Dublin International College of Life Sciences and Technology Successfully Held

On the morning of June 25, the Guangzhou-Dublin International College of Life Sciences and Technology (referred to as "Dublin College") held the 2025 Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral at the Dingying Auditorium.

Present at the ceremony were Chen Letian, Vice President of SCAU; Regina Uí Chollatáin, Vice President of University College Dublin (UCD); members of the Joint Management Committee of Dublin College; heads of relevant university departments and colleges; the Dublin College's Sino-foreign management team and leadership; all faculty and staff; and the 2025 graduates along with their families and friends. Together, they witnessed the memorable moments of the graduates, celebrating the successful completion of their studies and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. The ceremony was co-hosted by Feng Lixin, Dean of Dublin College, and Paul Fanning, Provost.


Chen Letian announced the list of degree recipients and delivered a speech to congratulate the 126 graduates who earned bachelor's degrees from both institutions. He emphasized that Sino-foreign cooperative education has become an important pathway for cultivating international talents. Dublin College, established through interdisciplinary collaboration, joint research, and shared faculty resources, is an international educational platform created by both universities in response to the trend of globalization in education. Over the past five years, the college has adhered to the principle of "prioritizing the quality of talent cultivation," with students achieving remarkable success in academic research and competitions, and graduates pursuing advanced studies or high-quality employment. Chen encouraged the graduates to aim high, embrace diversity, and grow into globally competent talents with a sense of national pride, innovative spirit, practical abilities, and the capacity to foster international cultural exchanges and lead future development.

Regina Uí Chollatáin extended her warm congratulations to the graduates. She noted that the partnership between UCD and South China Agricultural University combines the strengths of both institutions in food science, horticulture, and life sciences, creating an international platform that offers students a learning experience beyond traditional education. Dublin College not only focuses on developing students' professional skills but also cultivates critical thinking, forward-looking vision, and cross-cultural competence. An increasing number of students are shining on the global stage, and she wished all graduates success in their new journeys.

Feng Lixin congratulated the graduates and shared the exciting news that Dublin College had been honored as a 2025 National Outstanding Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Institution. He highlighted that over the past four years, the students had embodied the spirit of both universities, demonstrating diligence, wisdom, and resilience. They had acquired critical thinking, adaptability to multicultural environments, the drive for continuous learning and lifelong growth, and the courage to remain steadfast in uncertain times—qualities essential for young people in the new era. Feng encouraged the graduates to embrace change, observe the world with a global perspective, maintain resilience amidst transformations, and pursue breakthroughs with determination. He also urged them to remain hopeful, love life, step out of their comfort zones with an open mind, adapt to new environments, explore new horizons, and embark on new journeys to write even brighter chapters.

Wu Zijun (Biological Sciences), He Yixian (Food Quality and Safety), and Hu Ziyu (Horticulture), representatives of the 2025 graduates, delivered speeches titled "Toward the Sun," "Toward Excellence," and "Toward Innovation," respectively. They expressed gratitude for the international platform and multicultural environment provided by the college. The distinctive training model of Sino-foreign cooperative education had allowed them to access high-quality educational resources and diverse learning pathways, enabling comprehensive development in cross-cultural communication, research skills, and practical abilities. The graduates then presented gifts to the college as a token of appreciation, wishing their alma mater continued success in nurturing talents and achieving greater accomplishments.


"This graduation ceremony holds extraordinary significance for us, carrying countless memories and dreams," said He Yixian from Food Quality and Safety Class 2, her eyes shining as she stood with her classmates. "The college has accompanied us through the most precious years of our youth, witnessing our growth from naivety to maturity. I will soon pursue further studies at the National University of Singapore, and I am determined to work hard and live up to the high expectations of my alma mater."

"Smile for the camera!" Yang Xinyu's parents, holding flowers and a camera, captured the heartwarming moment at the ceremony. "May the college thrive, and may the students pursue their dreams and shine in their respective fields, writing brilliant chapters in their lives," said Yang's father with deep emotion.


The graduation ceremony concluded in a grand and joyous atmosphere. Representatives from the Student Affairs Office, Undergraduate School, Finance Office, Office of International Relations, College of Horticulture, College of Life Sciences, and College of Food Science attended the event.
