On the afternoon of October 31, the closing ceremony of '2023 Training Workshop on Production, Application and Demonstration of Environmentally Friendly Fertilizers for Developing Countries' , which was organized by Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and hosted by South China Agricultural University, was held. 22 participants from 8 countries, including Turkey, Mongolia, Uganda, Guyana, Mauritius, Eritrea, Nigeria and Lesotho, participated in the closing ceremony. Wu Xujun, investigator of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Office of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, Feng Lixin, dean of College International Education, Zhou Yanhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of College of Natural Resources and Environment, and CAI Kunzheng, vice president of College of Natural Resources and Environment attended the closing ceremony.
In the closing speech, Wu Xujun pointed out that foreign aid training is an important part of China's foreign aid, and foreign aid training courses are an important platform to enhance mutual understanding, enhance trust and friendship, and strengthen cooperation in various fields. He extended gratitude to South China Agricultural University for successfully completing this foreign aid training program. He hoped and encouraged the participants to apply the agricultural experience and technology learned here to their own countries or regions.
In the speech, Feng Lixin congratulated the participants on successfully achieving the learning goals. He said that during the study, the participants had enhanced their understanding of China and established profound friendship with each other. He hoped to maintain close contact and promote exchanges and cooperation between them in the future. At the same time, on behalf of South China Agricultural University, he extended gratitude to Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and other departments for their support and guidance to the foreign aid training projects.
Mr. CAI Kunzheng and Mr. Karagoz Erdem from Turkey spoke on behalf of the teaching staff and all the participants respectively.
The training workshop is one of the Chinese government's foreign aid projects. As the counterpart department of foreign aid training of Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, College International Education is responsible for project application, organization, implementation and service management, etc. College of Natural Resources and Environment of South China Agricultural University undertook the teaching of the project. The training stated on October 11, 2023 and lasted for 21 days. The training workshop combined theoretical courses, experimental practice and visits. The whole course was taught in English.
During the training, the participants learned controlled release fertilizer, composting, soilless culture and plant nutrition and other technologies, and went to Shenzhen, Yunfu and other relevant production bases, companies and enterprises to visit. The participants said that the training arrangement was reasonable and the combination of theory and practice had benefited them a lot.
