On 8th December, international students of SCAU participated in the 'International Promotion and Popularization of Lingnan Culture for International Students in Guangzhou Universities' and went to the Huadu Stucco Relief Cultural Industry Institute to visit and experience the traditional Han Chinese architectural decoration craft in Lingnan - stucco relief. This event was organized by Guangdong Federation of Social Sciences and hosted by International Students Committee of Guangdong Association of Higher Education and Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University.
During the activity, Liu Juan, the director of Huadu Stucco Relief Cultural Industry Institute, explained the development history of stucco relief to international students and introduced the exhibits of the institute. The international students showed strong interest and experienced stucco relief painting firsthand. In the process, international students fully utilized their creativity and integrated cultural characteristics of various countries to create stucco relief 'little dolls' with various forms, vivid and interesting, full of exotic charm.
During the activity, a reporter from Huadu TV randomly interviewed two international students from SCAU. Cecilia, a student from Equatorial Guinea, told the reporter in Chinese, 'These stucco relief works are very beautiful and I really like them.' The international students enhanced their understanding of Lingnan culture and promoted international cultural exchange by experiencing stucco relief firsthand.
