 On the afternoon of December 19th, international students of SCAU participated in the 2016 'Charming Guangdong, Living My Dream' International Student Gala. 'Charming Guangdong, Living My Dream' is an exchange activity for international students in Guangdong organized by Guangdong Public Diplomacy Association, Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Guangdong Education Association for International Exchange since last year. This year, it was hosted by Jinan University and International Students Committee of Guangdong Higher Education Association. Nearly 2,000 international students from SCAU, Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Southern Medical University, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, South China Normal University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Shenzhen University and other universities participated in the event.

 International students from College of International Education of SCAU gave a performance of the skit program ‘My Chinese is not very good’, which told the funny stories of international students in the process of studying in China due to differences in language and culture. Five students from the United States, Colombia, Mauritius, Kazakhstan and Gabon brought the house down their vivid performances, and the audience burst into warm applause. After 13 artistic programs were performed by various universities, the program of SCAU won the third prize with the programs of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Southern Medical University and Shenzhen University. Program of Jinan University ‘Oriental Charm’ and poetry recitation program of South China University of Technology ‘Thank You China for Giving Us a Good Time 'won the first prize.

 This is the first time for international students of SCAU to participate in International Students Gala, which brought together performances from universities across the province. A total of international students from 36 countries participated in the event. This event set up a cultural platform for international students of SCAU to get a better understanding of China, adapt to life in Guangdong, and promote communication with other international students from neighboring universities. The cultural performance is the carrier of exchange, which not only highlights youth vitality and innovation passion of international students of SCAU, but also enables them to better inherit and carry forward their own culture, understand and learn the excellent traditional Chinese culture and Lingnan culture, and achieve personal development in the cultural atmosphere of harmony while different and seeking common ground.

 The 'Charm Guangdong, Living My Dream' International Student Gala will be hosted by Sun Yat-sen University next year, and College International Education of SCAU will encourage international students to participate in it and we are looking forward to achieving better results next year.
