Warm Reminders from the College of International Education on Strengthening Health and Safety Management for Faculty and Students During Summer 2026
各位老师、同学：
根据学校《关于做好2026 年暑期安全管理工作的通知》要求，为扎实做好学院暑期师生安全教育与管理工作，切实保障全体师生身心健康与生命财产安全，维护校园安全稳定，现将暑期个人健康、安全相关注意事项温馨提示如下：
Dear Faculty and Students,
In accordance with the university’s Notice on Summer 2026 Safety Management, and to strengthen safety education and management over the vacation, ensure the physical and mental well being and property safety of all staff and students, and maintain a stable and secure campus, we hereby offer the following reminders on personal health and safety for the summer period.
一、离校前的必做事项
I. Mandatory Checklist Before Departure
1.人走电断：离开宿舍、公寓、办公室前关闭所有电器电源（包括空调、插排、充电器等），拔掉插头。如果遇到火情，保持冷静，及时拨打火警电话，根据逃生指引有序撤离。
1.Power off – Before leaving dormitories, apartments, or offices, turn off all electrical appliances (including air conditioners, power strips, chargers, etc.) and unplug them. In case of fire, stay calm, call the emergency number promptly, and follow evacuation signs to exit in an orderly manner.
2.关窗锁门：检查门窗是否关严锁好，贵重物品（电脑、首饰、证件等）务必随身带走，切勿留宿室内。
2.Lock windows and doors – Check that all windows and doors are properly closed and locked. Take all valuables (laptops, jewelry, important documents, etc.) with you; do not leave them in the room.
3.清空垃圾：及时清理办公区域、宿舍、公寓的垃圾和易腐食品，避免滋生蚊虫或异味。
3.Clear out rubbish – Remove all waste and perishable food from offices, dormitories, and apartments promptly to prevent insect breeding and odours.
4.留校和离校申请：中国学生因特殊原因申请假期留校，须经过家长知情同意，经年级辅导员审批后方能留宿，并严格遵守每日签到、晚点名制度等学生公寓管理规定。留学生假期申请离校的需提交书面申请（研究生须经导师知情同意），经留学生办公室审批后方可离校。
4. On-campus stay request and off-campus leave request –Chinese students who wish to stay on campus during the holiday for special reasons must obtain prior parental consent and approval from their grade advisor. They are then required to strictly follow daily check-in and evening roll-call procedures, as well as other studentaccommodation regulations.
International students planning to leave campus during the holiday must submit a written application (postgraduate students must also obtain their supervisor’s consent) and receive approval from the International Students Office before departure.
二、确保人身安全
II. Ensuring Personal Safety
1.预防溺水事故：不到无安全设施、无救护人员、无安全保障、不熟悉的水域游泳；不到未经开发的偏、远、险、陡的地方游玩。不无证驾驶、酒驾、醉驾，不坐无客运资质的车辆，不坐超速、超载、酒驾、疲劳驾驶的车辆。
1.Prevent drowning – Do not swim in waters without safety equipment, lifeguards, proper safeguards, or in unfamiliar areas. Avoid visiting undeveloped, remote, dangerous, or steep locations. Do not drive without a licence, drive under the influence of alcohol, or ride with unlicensed drivers. Never board vehicles that are speeding, overloaded, or operated by impaired or fatigued drivers.
2.预防极端天气：关注天气预报，暑期雨水较多，如收到暴雨、台风等恶劣天气预警后，减少户外活动，注意行走安全，不在棚架、铁皮屋等不安全地方停留，不在变压器、大树或广告牌下避雨，尽量远离树木、建筑物边缘、有室外悬挂物、山体等危险地带，防止高空坠物、树枝坠落砸伤。
2.Guard against extreme weather – Stay updated on weather forecasts. As summer brings frequent rainfall, reduce outdoor activities when severe weather warnings (e.g., heavy rain, typhoons) are issued. Walk with care, do not stay in/under scaffolding, sheet-metal structures, or unsafe places. Do not take shelter under transformers, large trees, or billboards. Keep away from hazardous areas such as tree lines, building edges, outdoor hanging objects, and slopes to prevent injuries from falling objects or branches.
3.预防夏季疾病：坚持良好卫生习惯，规律作息，劳逸结合，加强锻炼。避免在高温、高湿、阳光直射等不利环境下长时间活动，避免中暑、日射病、热射病等情况发生，如出现中暑或其他症状不缓解，及早就医。
3.Prevent summer illnesses – Maintain good hygiene habits, keep a regular daily routine, balance work with rest, and exercise regularly. Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight to prevent heatstroke, sunstroke, or heat-related illnesses. If symptoms of heatstroke or other conditions persist, seek medical attention promptly.
4.遵守实验室安全规范：实验期间严格规范易燃易爆、生化类试剂和用品等特殊物品的采购、实验操作、废弃物处置等工作程序，科学处理动物尸体、器官和组织等实验物品。
4.Follow laboratory safety protocols – During experiments, strictly follow standardized procedures for procuring, handling, and disposing of flammable, explosive, biochemical reagents, and special supplies. Dispose of animal carcasses, organs, tissues, and other experimental waste in accordance with scientific and regulatory standards.
三、确保财产和网络安全
III. Ensuring Property and Cyber Security
1.谨防各类电信网络诈骗：不点击未知链接，不轻信陌生来电，不出租、出借、出售个人银行卡、电话卡及支付账户，牢记防诈骗口诀：“要钱？不给！”“给钱？不要！”如遇到要求转账汇款时，要多核实，发现问题及时报警。
1.Beware of telecom and online fraud – Do not click unknown links, trust unsolicited calls, or rent, lend, or sell your bank cards, phone cards, or payment accounts. Remember the golden rule against scams: “If they ask for money – don’t give it!” and “If they offer money – don’t take it!” Always verify any request for money transfers or remittances, and contact the police immediately if you spot anything suspicious.
2.绿色上网、文明上网、健康上网：不沉溺网络和电子游戏，不参与非法网络活动，不浏览和传播违法和不良信息，提升个人信息保护意识和技能，维护自身信息安全，做到绿色上网、文明上网、健康上网。
2.Use the internet in a green, civil, and healthy manner – Avoid internet addiction and excessive gaming. Do not engage in illegal online activities, browse or disseminate illegal or harmful information. Enhance your awareness and skills in personal information protection, safeguard your own data, and always practice responsible online behaviour.
四、确保实践安全
IV. Ensuring Safety During Internships and Fieldwork
1.正规渠道寻找实习机会：学生要通过正规渠道寻找兼职或实习机会，警惕非法中介和“黑中介”，在实习期间与家长和老师保持信息畅通。
1.Seek internships through legitimate channels – Look for part time jobs or internships only through reputable sources. Beware of illegal intermediaries and fraudulent agencies. Maintain regular communication with your parents and teachers throughout the internship period.
2.遵守实习单位安全制度：学生在实习期间要遵守实习单位安全制度，如有操作作业时，应按要求做好必要的安全措施，规范操作，避免安全事故发生。
2.Comply with the host organization’s safety regulations – During internships, adhere to all safety rules of the employer. For any operational tasks, follow required safety measures and standard operating procedures to prevent accidents.
3.保持信息畅通：参与暑期“三下乡”、大调研等社会实践的团队在出行前应向学院进行报备，实践过程中保持通讯畅通，经常与家人、朋友、老师等分享出行信息。实践过程中原则上不允许队员脱离队伍单独行动；尽量减少夜间外出，尤其禁止队员夜间单独外出。
3.Stay connected – Teams participating in summer social practice programmes (e.g., rural outreach, field research) must report to the college before departure. Maintain open communication during activities and regularly share your travel information or itineraries with family, friends, and teachers. In principle, no team member should leave the group alone; minimise night-time outings, and strictly prohibit members from going out alone at night.
4.密切关注当地自然灾害预警信息：学生和团队指导老师应提前查询了解实践地天气状况，以及气候变化，减少在极端恶劣天气下出行，避免前往存在安全隐患的地方活动。
4.Monitor local natural disaster warnings – Students and team supervisors should check the weather and climate forecasts for the destination in advance. Reduce travel during severe weather and avoid visiting areas with potential safety hazards.
五、合理规划假期生活
V. Planning Your Summer Well
学生留校期间不留宿异性和外来人员，不单独留宿，不晚归，不把床位出租给他人，发现他人违反安全规定和校园安全事故，第一时间向辅导员、班主任、宿管报告（留学生请及时与留学生办公室联系），拨打学校保卫处24小时总值班电话。
安全无小事，防范记心间。祝愿全体师生度过一个平安、健康、充实、愉快的暑假！
During the on-campus stay, students must not accommodate visitors of the opposite sex or outsiders in their rooms. Do not stay overnight alone in a dormitory room, return late, or sublet beds to others. If you observe anyone violating safety regulations or engaging in unsafe activities on campus, report it immediately to your advisor, class tutor, or dormitory supervisor (international students should contact the International Students Office promptly), or call the university security 24-hour hotline.
Safety is no small matter; prevention is always key. We wish all faculty and students a safe, healthy, fulfilling, and enjoyable summer holiday!
